Society as a whole has undergone massive and rapid sociological change over the past decade caused by technology and more recently the pandemic, with Gen Z markedly different to preceding generations in terms of their studying habits and preferences and their overarching priorities and concerns. In this session we look at what instructors can do to maximise engagement and participation among this new demographic of students using examples from universities in Ireland who have adopted innovative approaches to teaching and learning over the past 5-6 years with great results.

Ros Letellier Ros has worked in academic and educational publishing for almost 20 years and was part of the team that launched the first digital reading programme for primary schools in the UK back in 2010. She has written extensively about the benefits of using technology in education for teaching, learning and assessment. She is Chair of Governors at a primary school and is passionate about 21st century skills and the need to evaluate what we learn and assess in a rapidly changing world. |
