Thematic Analysis
Worked Example of Thematic Analysis
Jamie Enoch - "Dear England"
In this resource, we aim to show how you might go about undertaking a thematic analysis (TA), and we provide an illustrative worked example below. It is worth noting that there are excellent, comprehensive worked examples in other key works on TA (e.g. Braun & Clarke, 2006; Terry, Hayfield, Clarke, & Braun, 2017). Our aim here is to be transparent about how we followed the stages of TA, based fundamentally around Braun and Clarke’s reflexive method of TA (Braun & Clarke, 2019), and the questions and decisions we were confronted with at each stage. Helpful advice on Virginia Braun’s and Victoria Clarke’s approach to TA is also available on their TA website.
