If you answer “yes” to one or more of the questions, we want to hear from you as the team at McGraw Hill are looking for university students, like you, to serve as Student Ambassadors. An ideal candidate should be passionate about digital learning, keen to support their peers and develop their professional skills.

As a digital learning advocate, you will get the chance to connect with various students and instructors at various institutions by sharing your first-hand experiences and best practices of using McGraw Hill digital products. 

In working closely with the McGraw Hill team, you will gain real-world experience and professional development skills to educate faculty and their students on the benefits of implementing and utilising digital learning tools to improve academic outcomes. More importantly, you will have the opportunity to provide us feedback on how we can better improve the learning experience for future students too. 

What does a Student Ambassador do?

As an Ambassador, there will be many opportunties for you to build your profile and represent your university by advocating digital and adaptive learning and being the voice for your fellow students, you can participate in key activity across the academic term that will support your peers and teachers, as well as yourself. Here is some of the activity you can be involved in:

 

Support your peers as they get started with digital by joining your Academic Learning Consultant for student-facing presentations at the start of term, alongside sitting in on student sessions and sales calls.

A chance to contribute to student-facing content in the form of articles, case studies and videos.

Embrace the hashtag trend by learning social media strategy and posting on our channels to communicate with your peers anytime, anywhere.

We tend to run focus groups to better understand our students and their digital learning needs. As Student Ambassadors you will be fast-tracked to join any of these and provide us with all important feedback.

Eligiblity

  • Enrolled in a university in UK, Ireland or Europe, preferably in your 2nd or 3rd academic year
  • Currently using or have used, for a minimum of one term, a McGraw Hill product, like Connect, SmartBook or ALEKS
  • Comfortable with public speaking, written communication and video content
  • Comfortable with contributing to our a social media presence
  • Comfortable with working closely with McGraw Hill staff
  • Ability to commit to at least three Ambassador activities per calendar year
  • Willingness to be published on the McGraw Hill blog and social media channels

Is this an internship programme?
No, the Student Ambassador Programme is not classed as an internship programme; however, Student Ambassadors have gone on to become McGraw Hill employees.

Is there compensation?
Student Ambassadors are eligible to receive rewards for involvement in certain Student Ambassador activities. There is no salary or reimbursement involved.

How can I join the program?

What is the commitment involved?
Every Student Ambassador is expected to commit to at least three activities per term.

Will I be given the opportunity to interact with McGraw Hill professionals?
Yes, Student Ambassadors will have the opportunity to collaborate with our Marketing and Sales teams.

How will I learn how to be an Ambassador?
If you become a Student Ambassador, you will go through an initial orientation with a McGraw Hill Program Manager. Ongoing communications, support and learning opportunities are provided throughout your role.

What can I expect if I become a Student Ambassador?
You can expect quarterly emails from the McGraw Hill Program Manager announcing new Student Ambassador opportunities for you to take part in. These opportunities may cap the number of Student Ambassadors required. You can communicate directly with the Program Manager to confirm your involvement and activity schedule. Your opportunities and activities will include interaction with students and instructors, as well as our general network via social media. You will also get the chance to create content with us in the form of written pieces and videos.
