Crucially students also have access to their own data to help them manage their own learning and create informed study plans.

Prepare students for the real world with Application-Based Activities (ABA) in Connect. These highly interactive, assignable exercises allow students to apply their knowledge to realistic scenarios in role-playing and lab simulations across the fields of psychological study. Each ABA involves the application of multiple concepts, providing the ability to synthesize information and use critical-thinking skills to solve realistic scenarios. With nearly 100 activities, covering topics from ethics to classical conditioning to common psychopathological disorders, there’s a wide variety to select from.

A sub-set of the Application-Based Activities, 3D Virtual Brain activities provide opportunities for Psychology students to learn about the brain and its connection to behaviour through manipulable, three-dimensional dynamic figures of the brain.

An engaging and innovative learning game, Quest: Journey Through the Lifespan provides students with opportunities to apply content from their human development curriculum to real-life scenarios. Students play unique characters who range from 9-months-old to 80-years-old and make decisions that apply key concepts and theories as they negotiate events in an array of authentic environments.

NewsFlash activities link contemporary news stories to key psychological principles and learning objectives. After interacting with a research article, TED talk, podcast, or blog, students are assessed on their ability to make connections between the source material and the content they are studying in class.
