This lab manual can be used with Saladin’s Human Anatomy text, or it can be used independently. The illustrations are labeled; therefore, students do not need to bring their lecture texts to the lab. The lab manual can be used in either a one-term or a full-year course. The illustrations are outstanding, and the balanced combination of line art and photographs provides effective coverage of the material. The amount of lecture material in the manual is limited, so there is little material included that is not part of the laboratory experience.
The 29 exercises in this lab manual provide a comprehensiveoverview of the human body. Each exercise presents the core elementsof the subject matter. This manual may be tailored to matchyour own vision of the course, or it may be used in its entirety. Thelabs generally take between 2 and 3 hours to complete
This lab manual was written for three types of anatomycourses. For courses that use the cat as the primary dissectionanimal, cat dissections appear at the end of the lab manual, andmammalian organ dissections follow the material on humananatomy. For courses that use models or charts, numerous cadaverphotographs are included, allowing students to see the representativestructures as they exist in the cadaver. Finally, for courses thatuse cadavers, this manual can be used by studying the human materialand omitting the cat dissection sections.
The nomenclature for the 6th edition has been updated to match theterminology in the 6th edition of Saladins Human Anatomy text
